A train of packhorses crossing a rockslide, a cowboy thinking on a rock by a pool of water, and a rocky cliff against a blue sky.

Planning for some spectacular summer activities for this year's vacation? It's time to leave civilization far behind! Reserve a trail ride package with Copper Cayuse Outfitters and experience the joy of riding on horseback, relaxing and enjoying nature the way our forefathers did. Your customized expedition with CCO into British Columbia's spectacular Coastal Mountains is sure to leave you with the memories of a lifetime.

You tell us how many days you have available for your horseback adventure, and we here at Copper Cayuse Outfitters can select an appropriate trail in the vast wilderness we have available to us. Our most enoyable expeditions are 5 nights, with 6 days of horseback riding, but we suggest a minimum of 3 nights, with 4 days of horseback riding. Whatever you choose, your trail ride will be like no other!

On the day before your trip, we'll arrange to get your duffle and other camping gear from your accommodation in Whistler or Pemberton, and have it brought to our Packmaster for loading with our equipment. We'll be ready to advise you on which equipment to pack away, and what to keep with you (like your camera!), and also to answer any last-minute questions you may have. The next morning, we'll pick you up bright and early from your accommodation, and drive you to the trailhead, where you'll meet your horse and whatever wranglers you haven't been introduced to yet.

A mountain river slowly flows through a teacherous high-alpine marsh, and a painted horse quietly grazes in a stand of birch trees.

From there you'll depart with us for the less traveled world in the backcountry wilderness of British Columbia. You'll ride through quiet forest trails, climb up beyond the tree line, travel through mountain passes and relax in mountain meadows, all while enjoying the abundant wildlife. Although we can't guarantee that you'll see any particular species, you could meet mountain sheep, goats, bears (black bears and grizzlies), wolves, deer, and all kinds of smaller creatures that are prevalent in the area. Every horseback ride into the backcountry has its own story, with different events and encounters that will make your days in the saddle unique.

Each day, as evening comes on, you'll be able to participate in setting up a real cowboy "fly camp". We'll show you how you can bond with your riding animal, taking care of him so that he will take care of you. The Packmaster will co-ordinate the unloading, showing you how to care for the equipment that keeps your adventure going smoothly, and you'll learn some "tricks of the trade" for getting your camp set up for maximum enjoyment and comfort. Every evening, you'll enjoy a gourmet camp cooked meal that will rival the fare from many five-star restaurants, and you'll relax around the campfire in true cowboy fashion. When you head for bed, you'll have the classic horseman's canvas lean-to, as well as modern tents, to shelter under, and the clear night air and gentle night noises will lull you to sleep.

When you return to the trailhead it will be the afternoon of the final day of your trip. If your package includes it, you'll be brought to the home ranch for a hearty "grand-finale" barbeque. Either way, when your day is done, staff will be available to drive you and your gear back to your accommadation in Pemberton or Whistler. You'll leave our little corner of the world after an awe-inspiring experince, with beautiful memories of a true horseback trail ride in the deep Canadian backcountry!

Every trip includes all meals from lunch on Day 1 to lunch on the final day. Every effort will be made to conform to any specialized dietary restrictions you may have. Sleeping bags and shelters/tents are provided. All riders must be at least 16 years of age.

Options (at extra cost) include: Transportation from Vancouver, Grande Finale Barbeque. Please inquire when you make your reservation.
