Can’t get the time off for an expedition but want to experience horse-camping in British Columbia this Summer? Set off on a two-day weekend camp in the Birkenhead mountains - departing every Saturday between July and September.
Immerse yourself in a two-day, one-night adventure through the breathtaking Coast Mountain Range of British Columbia. Discover the awe-inspiring landscapes nestled around Birkenhead Lake as you journey from the valley bottom where the Birkenhead River flows, up into the alpine where our camp is tucked into the forest.

Our 2-day overnight Summer expeditions kick off every Saturday at 9:30 am from our trailhead, running from July 4 to September 26, 2026.

Professional guides, well-trained mountain horses, tack, 1-nights tented accommodation, and four meals beginning with lunch on the day of your arrival at base camp. Sleeping bags, cots, mats, tents, towels, washcloths, riding helmets ( if wanted) and riding cape are all supplied.

$1,266 +5% tax, per person

Our rider weight limit is 250 lbs or 113 kgs. However, this is a guideline and depends on factors such as rider fitness, height, and riding experience. An experienced, balanced rider puts far less strain on a horse than someone new to riding.
We are always concerned with the comfort and long-term health of our guests and our horses. Since horses also come in all shapes and sizes, not all horses can carry the same weight. Please keep these factors in mind when booking.
While we do our best to accommodate all guests, we reserve the right to arrange an alternate time or cancel a booking if we do not have a suitable horse available for you. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy.

Begin your expedition bright and early on Saturday. Meet us at the trailhead where your horse and guides will be waiting. You'll embark on a 16-kilometer ride to our base camp, passing a recent mine claim exploration on the way.
At the camp, you'll be reunited with your luggage (maximum weight of 30lbs). Our base camp features amenities like a hot shower, outdoor plumbing, and tents on platforms for extra guest comfort.

After a hearty morning meal, we'll ride around the Birkenhead area before heading back down the mountain.
Each day concludes with campfire gatherings and cozy tent accommodations.

Flexible Booking
We offer flexible booking options including cancellations as late as 24hrs before your ride, rescheduling or cancelling at no extra charge for all rides except the multi-day rides which require 7 days’ notice for cancellation. Last-minute booking can be made up to 2 hours before the hourly ride, 24 hours before for 1/2 day and full day rides and 7 days prior for multiday rides.*
