Set off on an exhilarating quest for gold on the legendary Li-lik-hel Mine Expedition. Traverse trails once etched by miners and weathered by years of horse-drawn journeys carrying precious gold ore to the railhead in the early 1900s.

Our 3-day overnight Summer expeditions kick off every Friday at 9:30 am from our trailhead, running from June 11 to September 24, 2027.
Please note that accessing the Li-lik-hel Mine is dependent on snowpack - winter snowfall and spring temperatures will dictate when we can ride to the Mine and if we cannot access it we will ride alternative trails. This can vary from late June to early August.

Seven meals beginning with lunch on the day of your arrival at base camp.
Sleeping bags, cots, mats, tents, towels, washcloths, riding helmets (if wanted) and riding cape are all supplied.

Near Birkenhead Lake, north of Pemberton, British Columbia. Rides kick off from the Copper Cayuse trailhead, where your horse and guides will be waiting.
There is no cell service or electricity for the duration of this camp.

To be able to ride to the Li-lik-hel Mine on one of the trip days, riders must be able to comfortably and safely ride at a trot/canter.
If a rider is unable to or is uncomfortable, they will be able to remain at camp on the Mine day.
Please contact us for any bookings with youth - this ride is only suitable for those with experience and smaller horses are limited.

Our rider weight limit is 250lbs or 113kgs, however, the weight limit depends on multiple factors such as rider fitness, height, and riding experience. Height must be taken into consideration with weight limits. An experienced, balanced rider puts far less strain on a horse than someone new to riding.
These factors must be taken into consideration when booking.
Not all of our horses can carry the same weight which means we can only accommodate so many riders at our upper weight limit. While we do our best to accommodate all guests, we reserve the right to arrange an alternate time or cancel a booking if we do not have a suitable horse available for you. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy.

Begin your expedition bright and early on Friday. Meet us at the trailhead where your horse and guides will be waiting. You'll embark on a 16-kilometer ride to our base camp, passing a recent mine claim exploration on the way.
At the camp, you'll be reunited with your luggage (maximum weight of 30lbs). Our base camp features amenities like a hot shower, outdoor plumbing, and tents on platforms for extra guest comfort.

After a hearty morning meal, we'll set out to the Li-lik-hel mine, allowing you to explore the original mine site and witness how the old hard rock miners extracted gold ore by following the veins in the rock.
From base camp, you can also enjoy day rides to various locations of interest. Each day concludes with campfire gatherings and cozy tent accommodations.
Please note access to the mine is subject to alpine snowpack conditions - this varies each season and melts out between late June to late July depending on Winter snowfall and Spring temperatures. -
On the final day, we offer a range of trail options for your return journey to the trailhead, and the choice is yours, guided by the preferences of the riding group.

Flexible Booking
We offer flexible booking options including cancellations as late as 24hrs before your ride, rescheduling or cancelling at no extra charge for all rides except the multi-day rides which require 7 days’ notice for cancellation. Last-minute booking can be made up to 2 hours before the hourly ride, 24 hours before for 1/2 day and full day rides and 7 days prior for multiday rides.*
